Great attendance for the Varsity Ford Car Show on Saturday, 5/12. We had twelve members with TBirds and another six or so either without car or with another car from their collection. Thank you, George Roscoe, for the canopy to give us some shade on a hot, sunny day. Congratulations to John Sadek & Brian Metzger for their class trophies (hope I didn't miss someone, let me know if I did)!

WWTC Tech Clinic
Saturday's weather forecast seemed to have a remote chance of rain, but it didn't dampen the day for our first in several years tech clinic. We started the day at the inaugural cruise-in at Copper Canyon in Southfield. We had several members show up and mingle with many exotics in attendance. Part of the cruise in was a raffle for rides in Ferraris, Lamborghinis, well you get the picture (proceeds went to charity). I saw the Southfield police checking us out!!
We departed about 12:30 to head to David & Jo Lau's home in Plymouth, following some nice country roads to get there. Before the clinic started, Dave gave us a tour of his garage that incorporates lots of energy-conserving technology, like selling energy from his solar panels back to DTE.
Bob Craik had an excellent presentation for members including taking a look at three member TBirds to demonstrate and diagnose issues. Bob shared some excellent tips and tools of the trade to help our members identify electrical problems so they could avoid unnecessary repair costs. It was a big success!
Thanks Bob & Dave!

Great Lakes Lighthouses
Thanks, Wayne Sapulski, for inviting us to your presentation at the Livonia Library on May 8th. We had 15 for dinner at G. Subu's Leather Bottle before heading over to join three more members for the presentation. If you have an opportunity to hear Wayne speak, GO! He combines just the right amount of humor with interesting facts and anecdotes. (Be sure to ask him about the sailboat in the evening photo of the Toledo lighthouse the next time you see him.)

R. E. Oldsmobile Transportation Museum
Sunday, 4/22, weather cooperated, 30+ members cruised first to Williamston, MI for lunch at the Red Cedar Grill . . . remember, "we're an eating club with a driving disorder". Great day for the maiden cruise of 2012! After lunch our route on Grand River to Lansing took us past Michigan State. Our caravan did get many stares as we made our way to the Olds Museum. Here's a look at some of our day . . .
"Driving America"
Wow! What a great turnout for our pizza party at Buddy's Pizza in Dearborn on March 31st, 50+ members enjoyed some of the best pizza in town and great service! Afterward we persevered the Titanic Exhibit opening day crowds to tour "Driving America" at The Henry Ford. Fortunately since Bob Smillie had made 'group' arrangements for us, we had easy entry. Lots of fun had by all.

Pewabic Pottery
February turnout for Pewabic Pottery was wonderful! This is one of Detroit's landmarks, as was Sinbad's At The River, the lunch stop. So now we have to go back in the summertime to REALLY enjoy the river.
Cadieux Cafe
It was an ominous beginning when we arrived at Cadieux Cafe . . . seems Bob Smillie found a feather right by his car when he and Sue were leaving to meet us. We all gathered at the ONLY place in the US where you can play REAL feather bowling. We haven't heard so much laughter in a long time! Playing on two lanes that are alongside one another proved to be lots of fun. After lots of spirited competition we retired to the dining room for some of the best food you could imagine. Check out the photos and then let us know if you want to come back next year.
